BLOODY DISGUSTING – The Rezort (formerly Generation Z) is screening at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on the 15th, 17th, 18th and 24th of June 2016.
“The Rezort sets its story in a world after an almost-apocalyptic zombie outbreak. Humans have won the war and are exploring how humanity can recover after such a huge percentage of the population has been wiped out. Humankind finally has the upper hand, but Melanie, who lost her entire family, is still deeply traumatised. In a bid to overcome the demons of her past, she goes on a zombie safari retreat. It is the ultimate in therapeutic revenge.
The ReZort is actually a highly controlled and monitored environment, with a maze of concealed security cameras, restraints and barriers. The eyes and ears of trained security personnel are on the guests 24/7, ensuring a safe shooting distance between the living and the undead. That is until the resort’s security system is hacked and a computer virus crashes it, potentially unleashing thousands of bloodthirsty zombies back into the wild.”
Dougray Scott (“Enigma,” “Hit Man”), Jessica De Gouw (“These Final Hours,” “Cut Snake”), Martin McCann (“Killing Bono,” “Clash of the Titans”), Elen Rhys (“Season of the Witch,” “World War Z”) Claire Goose (“Waking the Dead,” “Casualty”) and Jassa Ahluwalia (“Some Girls,” “The Bible”), The Rezort is a horror film offering a fresh twist on the zombie genre.
Steve Barker, the British filmmaker behind Nazi zombie feature Outpost and Outpost II, directs from a script by Paul Gerstenberger.
The film, produced by Matador Pictures, The Captain Starlight Company and UMedia, was shot on location in Wales and on Mallorca, Spain.

The Last Tycoon
A co-production with TriStar Television, The Last Tycoon is written and directed by Academy Award nominee Billy Ray (Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games), and executive produced by Ray and Christopher Keyser (Tyrant, Party of Five), who serve as showrunners, Joshua D. Maurer (Rosemary’s Baby), Alixandre Witlin (Rosemary’s Baby), and David A. Stern (Rosemary’s Baby). Mad Men’s Scott Hornbacher serves as co-executive producer of the pilot, along with Perri Kipperman (Billions). An adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s last work, The Last Tycoon follows Hollywood’s Golden Boy, Monroe Stahr (Matt Bomer, White Collar) as he battles father figure and boss, Pat Brady (Kelsey Grammer, Frasier) for the soul of their studio. In a world darkened by the Great Depression and the growing international influence of Hitler’s Germany, The Last Tycoon illuminates the passions, violence, and towering ambition of 1930’s Hollywood. Lily Collins (The Blind Side) stars as Cecelia Brady and noted Pulitzer-winning Fitzgerald scholar A. Scott Berg serves as consulting producer.
Take a look at the special effects of ‘The ReZort’ in the video below:
Watch the trailer for ‘The ReZort’ (also known as Generation Z), a horror film about an unusual kind of theme park is created to entertain visitors interacting with zombies as its main attraction. The movie opens June 1, 2016 in Philippine cinemas. No news about US/UK/AU release dates yet.
CINEMA BRAVO – Following a near apocalyptic zombie outbreak in “Generation Z” (aka “The ReZort”), humans now have the upper hand and life has returned to relative normality with only an occasional reminder or mention of recent horrific events. Most people wouldn’t even blink at seeing a zombie now. They know how to handle them. It’s no big deal because humans fought and won the battle and are in control again.
“Generation Z” brings the latest craze in this post zombie-outbreak world is the Zombie Safari: it is the newest and coolest thing in adventure holidays – a chance to go out and shoot the undead in the wild. The ultimate test in action and adventure, the ultimate blood sport and, to many, the ultimate in therapeutic revenge. But unbeknownst to most that go on Zafari, the park is a highly controlled and monitored environment; a maze of concealed security cameras, restraints and barriers. The eyes and ears of trained security personnel are on the guests – and the zombies 24/7, always ensuring a safe shooting distance between the living and the zombies. Nothing is left to chance. Nothing is unplanned.
The zombie movie genre is a popular one, with examples ranging across the decades from George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead to the TV phenomenon The Walking Dead as well as more comedic interpretations like Life after Beth and parodies like Shaun of the Dead. However, screenwriter Paul Gerstenberger was inspired to do a film with a new take on the genre, setting the story in a world after the humans have won the war against the zombie apocalypse and exploring how humanity would recover after such a huge percentage of the population has been wiped out.Continue Reading
